Happy Spring Dear Reader!
A walk last week at the local arboretum revealed blooming witch hazel, a true harbinger of spring. Now a few sunny days later neighborhood lawns are bearing their annual blanket of Siberian squill, a delightful blue flower that can stand the fickle Chicago spring. The crocuses are up, purple with brilliant yellow orange stamens, and fresh green leaves. All theses colors have joined me in the studio. Spring has arrived; there is a lightness to the air, in the singing of the birds, in the budding trees, and the sweet early flowers. Let’s celebrate, quick before we get some snow! Fondly, Miss Hellebore
